When the first season of the medical drama The Pitt dropped on HBO Max in January 2025, it didn’t take long before seemingly everyone was on the pulse of the goings-on at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. The medical community praised the show for its realism, the internet was obsessed, and the critics were too, propelling The Pitt to three Emmy Award wins ahead of its recently released second season.

It’s a particularly exciting time to be a theatre-loving Pitt fan. This spring alone, Patrick Ball makes his Broadway debut in Becky Shaw, Isa Briones returns to Broadway in Just in Time, and Sepideh Moafi appears off Broadway in New Born at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre. Isa Briones

As the brash but well-intentioned Dr. Trinity Santos, Isa Briones achieved breakout fame on The Pitt. Briones comes from a family of musical theatre actors and has been appearing in stage musicals since childhood. In 2018, she became the youngest member of the first national touring cast of Hamilton, playing Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds, and later made her Broadway debut as Eurydice in Hadestown in 2024. Now, Briones joins the cast of Broadway’s Just in Time as Connie Francis from April 1.

Amielynn Abellera portrays the warm, reliable Nurse Perlah Alawi on The Pitt, and her Tagalog gossip with fellow nurse Princess offers much-needed comedic relief. Abellera has never been on stage in NYC, but her West Coast theatre credits are extensive, including shows at L.A.’s Skylight Theatre, IAMA Theatre, and the Getty Villa Lab. She has also played coveted Shakespearean roles like Ophelia (in Los Angeles Women’s Shakespeare Company’s Hamlet) and Jessica (in Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles’s Merchant of Venice).

He was the company’s artistic producer from 1998 to 2008 and has starred in its theatre productions between film and TV projects.
