Under My Skin: Richard Kind to lead in reading of comedy that producers say is heading for Broadway



Variety reports that Richard Kind is to play the lead role in a reading of a new comedy, Under My Skin, by Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser, which producers say is aming for Broadway. The reading is to be held in Santa Barbara on 17 Sep 2009.

The reading, to be directed by Sean Daniels, will also feature Nick Stabile, Lesli Margherita, Megan Sikora, Joseph Sicari, Brian Beacock, James Leo Ryan, Scott Damian and Suzanne Friedline.

The comedy is about "two people - a corporate C.E.O. and a girl from Staten Island - from totally different walks of life who meet and quickly become intimate in a not-so-ordinary way." The comedy will be about the U.S. health-care industry, ageing, weird sex, and a smartass angel.

Robert Sternin and Prudence Fraser are the team that penned the TV sit-com "The Nanny." Other TV shows they have created include "Alice," "Three's Company," "The Simple Life," "Run of the House" and more.

The reading of Under My Skin is being produced by Heather Provost ('Reasons to Be Pretty'), Jeff Davis ('Rock of Ages') and Marla McNally Phillips.
