Tony Awards: Administration have announced more shows eligible for nominations


The Tony Award Administration Committee met today for the final time this season to decide the eligibility of thirteen Broadway productions for the 2007 American Theatre Wing�s Tony Awards, presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing.

  • Stephanie J. Block and Hadley Fraser will be considered in the Leading Actress and Actor in a Musical categories for their performances in The Pirate Queen.
  • Laura Bell Bundy will be considered in the Leading Actress in a Musical category for her performance in Legally Blonde.
  • Donna Murphy and Michael Cerveris will be considered in the Leading Actress and Actor in a Musical categories for their performances in LoveMusik.
  • John Cullum will be considered in the Featured Actor in a Musical category for his performance in 110 in the Shade.
  • Tonya Pinkins, Anthony Chisholm and John Earl Jelks will be considered in the Featured Actress and Actor in a Play categories for their performances in Radio Golf.
  • Music for Coram Boy will be eligible in the Best Original Score (Music and/or Lyrics) Written for the Theatre category.

All other decisions were consistent with the opening night credits.

This was the final meeting for the Tony Award Administration Committee to discuss the eligibility of shows opening in the 2006-2007 season. The cut-off date for eligibility was 9 May 2007 and nominations will be announced by Jane Krakowski and Taye Diggs at a reception on 15 May 2007 at the Lincoln Center Library for the Performing Arts.

The Tony Awards will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from Radio City Music Hall on the CBS television network on 10 Jun 2007.

The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. At the League, Gerald Schoenfeld is Chairman and Charlotte St. Martin is Executive Director. At the Wing, Sondra Gilman is Chairman, Doug Leeds is President and Howard Sherman is Executive Director. For Tony Award Productions, Elizabeth I. McCann is Managing Producer and Joey Parnes is Coordinating Producer.

Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss/White Cherry Entertainment are Executive Producers of the 2007 Tony Awards. Mr. Weiss will also serve as Director of the 2007 Tony Awards.
