The Village Bike: Full cast announced to join Greta Gerwig
The MCC Theater's upcoming production of Penelope Skinner's The Village Bike, which is directed by Sam Gold and playing at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from 22 May - 28 Jun 2014 with an official opening set for 10 Jun 2014, has announced the full cast to join Indie Film Star Greta Gerwig.
The cast for The Village Bike will feature Max Baker, Jason Butler Harner, Lucy Owen, Cara Seymour and Scott Shepherd.
Greta Gerwig will be making her stage debut. She is a Golden Globe nominee for her performance in Noah Baumbach's 'Frances Ha', which she also co-wrote with Baumbach. She will next star in the 20th Century Fox comedy pilot 'How I Met Your Dad', a spin-off of the popular 'How I Met Your Mother'. Other film credits include 'The Humbling', 'Maggie's Plan', 'To Rome With Love', 'Damsels in Distress', 'Lola Versus', 'Arthur', 'Greenberg' and 'No Strings Attached'.
Synopsis: Becky is pregnant - and friskier than ever. But she can't seem to get the attention of her husband, who is preoccupied with preparing for the baby's months-away arrival. So Becky takes matters into her own hands and sets out on an adventure that starts with the purchase of a used bike from a man in town and takes her further than she ever expected she'd go.

Max Baker has appeared on Broadway in 'Cyrano de Bergerac' in 2007 and 2012, and in 'Jerusalem' in 2011. He also appeared in the West End in 'Jerusalem'. His Off-Broadway credits include 'Mother Courage' (Public), 'Howard Katz' (Roundabout), 'The Explorers Club' (MTC), 'Abigail's Party', 'Comedians', 'What The Butler Saw', and 'Goose-Pimples' (New Group).
Jason Butler Harner is an Obie Award winner, who appeared on Broadway from 2006 to 2007 in 'The Coast of Utopia - Parts 1, 2 & 3'. Amongst his many theatre credits, Mr. Harner was seen in 'COCK', 'Through a Glass Darkly', 'The Invention of Love', 'The Paris Letter', 'Transit of Venus', 'The Gingerbread House', 'Our Town', 'Long Day's Journey Into Night', 'Ivanov', 'Platonov', 'The Cherry Orchard', 'The Glass Menagerie', 'Hamlet', 'Macbeth', and 'Hedda Gabler'.
Lucy Owen's recent theatre credits include 'Clybourne Park' (Long Wharf Theatre), 'Body Language' (Active Theatre), and 'Complete' (NY Fringe Encore). She will also be appearing in the upcoming films 'The Mend' and 'Kelly & Cal'.
Cara Seymour's recent theatre credits include 'Now and at the Hour of Our Death', 'Stairway to Heaven' (The Cucaracha Theater), Mike Leigh's 'Ecstasy' and 'Goose Pimples' (New Group), Caryl Churchill's 'The Stryker' (The Public Theater), David Cale's 'Betwixt', 'Freedom of the City' and 'Gibralter' (The Irish Rep). She will also co-star in a new 10-part original series, 'The Knick', starring Clive Owen and directed by Steven Soderbergh, to debut this summer.
Scott Shepherd is an Obie Award winner, who has appeared in many theatrical productions, including 'Cry, Trojans!', 'Vieux Carré', 'Hamlet', 'Poor Theater', 'To You', 'The Birdie!', 'North Atlantic' and 'Gatz'.
