'The Salvage Shop' by Jim Nolan, at theStorm Theatre
The Storm Theatre presents the New York premiere of The Salvage Shop, by Jim Nolan, opening at theStorm Theatre on the 2 Nov 2005, following previews from the 28 Oct and running through to the 19 Nov 2005.
Set in contemporary Ireland, The Salvage Shop explores reconciliation, redemption, love and failure through the fraught relationship of legendary local bandleader Sylvie Tansey and his gifted son Eddie. After twelve years, Sylvie still hasn�t forgiven his son for abruptly leaving the band, but when his father falls ill, Eddie returns home to care for him. Can a father whose time is running out and a son who�s lost his way make amends?
The cast for The Salvage Shop, directed by Peter Dobbins, features: Kristen Bush, Karen Eke, Roland Johnson, David Little, Paul Anthony McGrane and Ted McGuinness.
The Salvage Shop has set design by Todd Edward Ivins, costumes by Erin Murphy and lighting by Michael Abrams.
The Storm Theatre�s 2005-2006 season will also feature Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz�s 'House of Desires', with a new translation by Catherine Boyle commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company, directed by Peter Dobbins (January 2006). This Spring, the Pope Festival 2006 will explore and celebrate the plays of Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II).
