The Madrid: Darren Goldstein to join cast

Darren Goldstein (Bloody, Bloody, Andrew Jackson) will join the cast of Manhattan Theatre Club's world premiere of The Madrid in the role of 'Danny' starting 28 Feb 2013.

Goldstein replaces Christopher Evan Welch who is leaving the production due to a professional commitment.

The Madrid, by Liz Flahive ('From Up Here,' "Nurse Jackie") and directed by two-time Obie Award winner Leigh Silverman ('Chinglish,' 'From Up Here'), is now in previews at New York City Center - Stage I (131 West 55th Street), where it will open on 26 Feb 2013, and run through to 14 Apr 2013.

The Madrid also stars four-time Emmy Award winner and Tony Award nominee Edie Falco ("Nurse Jackie," The House of Blue Leaves, "The Sopranos") as 'Martha,' Tony Award nominee John Ellison Conlee (The Full Monty), Heidi Schreck (Circle Mirror Transformation - Off-B'way), Phoebe Strole (Spring Awakening), two-time Tony Award winner Frances Sternhagen (The Heiress, The Good Doctor), Seth Clayton and Brooke Ashley Laine.

The Madrid: Martha (Edie Falco) is a kindergarten teacher with a life many would want: a loving husband, a devoted daughter. But when she leaves it all behind, it's up to her daughter Sarah (Phoebe Strole) to pick up the pieces.

The creative team includes David Zinn (scenic design), Emily Rebholtz (costume design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design) and Jill BC Du Boff (sound design).
