The Caucasian Chalk Circle at the Green Room at 45 Bleecker Street

The Hipgnosis Theatre Company presents The Caucasian Chalk Circle by Bertolt Brech, at the Green Room at 45 Bleecker Street from 26 Apr - 11 May 2008.

The Caucasian Chalk Circle: In a war-torn village, plans are underway for a peaceful reconstruction. In celebration, a famous singer, with the help of the townspeople, performs an epic folktale that culminates in the story of The Caucasian Chalk Circle. The unlikely heroine of this winding tale is a simple maid who makes countless sacrifices to raise a child that is not her own.

Directed by Margot Newkirk, The Caucasian Chalk Circle features Demetrios Bonaros, John Castro, Hal Fickett, Pharah Jean-Philippe, John Kevin Jones, Colleen Kennedy, Matthew Kinney, Elizabeth Mirarchi, Dennis J. Paton, Ayanna Siverls, Douglas Scott Streater, Rachel Tiemann and Richard Ugino.

The creative team comprises Krista Thomas-Scott (costumes) and Robert Nguyen (lighting).
