Suddenly... Skylar! Pitch Perfect star Skylar Astin is set to take over the leading role of Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors from May 17. He replaces How to Get Away With Murder star Conrad Ricamora, who is in the role through May 14.

Astin is best known for originating the role of Georg in Spring Awakening on Broadway and playing Jesse in Pitch Perfect and Pitch Perfect 2 on film. His other screen credits include roles in Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and Grey's Anatomy.

Additional new casting has also been announced. Stuart Zagnit replaces original cast member Tom Alan Robbins as Mushnik on April 19, and Andrew Call will step into the role of Orin Scrivello, D.D.S. while original cast member Christian Borle is on a leave of absence from May 3-29. The production also has cast three new urchins: Tatiana Lofton as Ronnette, Cristina Raé as Chiffon, and Khadija Sankoh as Crystal.

Little Shop of Horrors follows Seymour, an awkward flower shop worker, as he makes a deal with a talking, flesh-eating plant. The plant, dubbed Audrey II after Seymour's coworker and crush, promises him fame and fortune in exchange for blood. Michael Mayer directs this production of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's cult classic musical, which has been running at the Westside Theatre off Broadway since 2019.
