Thomas Doherty to star in 'Little Shop of Horrors' off Broadway
The Gossip Girl and Tell Me Lies star will make his New York stage debut alongside Emmy nominee Madeline Brewer in the award-winning musical revival.
Welcome to Mushnik's Flower Shop! Thomas Doherty will make his NYC stage debut in Little Shop of Horrors off Broadway at the Westside Theatre from September 5.
Doherty is known for his onscreen roles as Max Wolfe in the HBO Max reboot of Gossip Girl, Leo in Tell Me Lies, Harry Hook in Disney's Descendants film franchise, Gray Holland in Girls5eva, and Walter De Ville in the 2022 film The Invitation.
In Little Shop of Horrors, he will assume the role of Seymour from Nicholas Christopher, who will depart the show to star in the previously announced Broadway revival of Chess. Doherty will star opposite The Handmaid's Tale Emmy nominee Madeline Brewer, who joined the show alongside Christopher earlier this month, as Audrey.
Other continuing cast members include Drama Desk nominee Jeremy Kushnier as Dr. Orin Scrivello DDS, Tony nominee Reg Rogers as Mushnik, Major Attaway as The Voice of Audrey II, Hailey Thomas as Ronnette, Daria Pilar Redus as Crystal, and Morgan Ashley Bryant as Chiffon.
Little Shop of Horrors, a horror comedy musical by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman, follows nerdy flower shop worker Seymour as he discovers a mysterious talking plant. It promises him fame, romance and fortune — for a bloody price. The current revival has been running since 2019, winning Outer Critics, Drama Desk, and Drama League Awards for Outstanding Revival.
