Joshua Bassett, Joy Woods to star in 'Little Shop of Horrors' off Broadway

Bassett will make his NYC stage debut alongside returning cast member Woods in the hit horror comedy musical at the Westside Theatre later this month.

Welcome, and welcome back, to Skid Row! Joshua Bassett and Joy Woods are the next stars of Little Shop of Horrors off Broadway, performing from December 19 to March 1 only at the Westside Theatre.

Bassett makes his NYC stage debut as Seymour after rising to fame as Ricky Bowen in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. Woods returns to the role of Audrey, which she previously played in 2023, after earning a 2025 Tony Award nomination for starring in Gypsy on Broadway from 2024-25.

They will perform alongside Tony nominee Andrew Durand as Dr. Orin Scrivello DDS, Christopher Swan as Mushnik, Christian McQueen as The Voice of Audrey II, Christine Wanda as Ronnette, Savannah Lee Birdsong as Crystal, and Morgan Ashley Bryant as Chiffon.

Thomas Doherty and Madeline Brewer, who currently star as Seymour and Audrey, will play their final performances on December 7. Understudies will step into the roles from December 9-18.

Little Shop of Horrors is a classic horror comedy musical about a plant shop worker who makes a dark deal with a flesh-eating, talking plant for fame and love. The current, award-winning revival has run off Broadway since 2019.
