Roundabout Underground presents Bobbie Clearly
The Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the second and final production of its 2017-2018 Roundabout Underground season at the Blackbox Theatre within the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre.
Roundabout Underground presents the New York premiere of Bobbie Clearly, written by Alex Lubischer and directed by Will Davis. Previews will begin on March 8, 2018, before an official opening on April 3 and a limited engagement through to May 20, 2018.
Synopsis: "Bobbie killed Casey in the middle of a cornfield in Milton, Nebraska. Two years later, Milton's residents are ready to tell you their side(s) of the story. This comedy-about-a-tragedy pushes the boundaries of Roundabout's Black Box Theatre, with a sprawling cast of eccentric characters and an ambitious narrative that pulls back the husk of rural life."
Roundabout Underground's 2017-2018 season also includes the previously announced Too Heavy For Your Pocket, written by Jiréh Breon Holder, which will play a limited engagement at the Black Box Theatre in fall 2017.
Synopsis: "Too Heavy For Your Pocket takes us back to Nashville in the summer of 1961. The Freedom Riders are embarking on a courageous journey into the Deep South. When 20-year-old Bowzie Brandon gives up a life-changing college scholarship to join the movement, he'll have to convince his loved ones—and himself—that shaping his country's future might be worth jeopardizing his own."
Casting and creative team information for both productions will be announced at a later date.
