Reckless by Craig Lucas, directed by Mark Brokaw, and starring Mary-Louise Parker (Rachel), opens at the Biltmore Theatre on 14 Oct 2004, following previews from 22 Sep 2004. Mary-Louise Parker has a history with both the playwright and director of this production, having earned her first Tony nomination for her performance in Craig Lucas' play, Prelude To A Kiss. She also appeared in the film version of Reckless as the paraplegic Pooty, and in the film, Longtime Companion, which was written by Mr. Lucas. For Reckless, Ms. Parker is being reunited with Mark Brokaw, her director for the Pulitzer Prize-winning play, How I Learned To Drive. Reckless premiered in 1983 and was later revised and produced by Circle Rep in 1988. A 1995 film version starred Mia Farrow. Its Christmas Eve, her son has fired her, her husbands put out a contract on her life, and so shes out the window - literally. This bittersweet comedy follows Rachel through a bizarre, fantastic and sometimes nightmarish journey as she travels across the country, finding home with a succession of intimate strangers.
