Really Really extends for a final time
MCC Theater's New York Premiere of Paul Downs Colaizzo's Really Really, directed by Obie Award and Lucille Lortel Award-winning director David Cromer (Our Town), has extended its run for a second and final time and will now play through to 30 Mar 2013.
Really Really opened at the Lucille Lortel Theatre on 19 Feb 2013, following previews form 31 Jan 2013, and was originally scheduled to close on 10 Mar 2013.
The show opened to mixed reviews: Nothing truly surprises (NY Times); Holds your attention (NY Post); Accelerates to its mesmerizing conclusion (Record Record) A shallow, manipulative tale (Time Out NY).
The cast features Matt Lauria (NBC's "Friday Night Lights" & "Parenthood") as 'Leigh' and Zosia Mamet (HBO's "Girls", AMC's "Mad Men") as 'Davis,' and also includes Lauren Culpepper as 'Grace,' reviving the role she played in the show's World premiere at Virginia's Signature Theatre, David Hull (Broadway's 'Wicked' and 'How to Succeed...') as 'Cooper,' Evan Jonigkeit (Broadway's 'High') as 'Jimmy,' Kobi Libii (Off-Broadway's 'CQ/CX') as 'Johnson' and Aleque Reid ('Hair' 1st National Tour) as 'Haley.'
Really Really: In the hazy aftermath of a wild party, dawn breaks on what appears to be just another day in the undergrad carnival that revolves around a close circle of friends. But when morning-after gossip turns ugly, the veneer of loyalty and friendship is peeled back to reveal a vicious jungle of sexual politics, raw ambition, and class warfare where only the strong could possibly survive.
The creative team features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by David Wiener and sound design by Daniel Kluger.
Really Really had its world premiere at Virginia's Signature Theatre. Directed by Matthew Gardiner, it ran from 31 Jan - 25 Mar 2012.
