15 years after the musical's Broadway premiere, a reunion event for The Light in the Piazza will take place this month, it has been announced. As part of Lincoln Center Theater's Spotlight Series, the cast and creative team will take part, which is available to broadcast on January 28.

Set in the summer of 1953, The Light in the Piazza follows Margaret and Clara Johnson as they travel through Italy together. Clara falls in love with a local young man, with Margaret doing all she can to keep them apart.

Running for over 12 months at the Vivian Beaumont Theater, The Light in the Piazza won seven Tony Awards including Best Original Score. The cast included Victoria Clark as Margaret Johnson, Kelli O' Hara as Clara Johnson and Matthew Morrison as Fabrizio Naccarelli.

In a review of the 2005 production for New York Theatre Guide, Polly Wittenberg said: "The score is beautiful but not old-fashioned. Each of the musical numbers flows organically from what's going on at the time and there's plenty of variety, with songs in both English and Italian and everything from airs to ballads to eight-part counterpoint to big dramatic climaxes... They all act, sing and dance with grace and style."

The upcoming event will feature Victoria Clark, Matthew Morrison and Kelli O'Hara, as well as the production's director Bartlett Sher. More information on the event can be found here
