Marton Csokas & Phillipa Soo join The Parisian Woman

The complete cast has now been confirmed for the upcoming Broadway premiere of The Parisian Woman - a new play by Oscar and Emmy Award nominee Beau Willimon. Directed by Tony nominee Pam MacKinnon, the production will officially open at Broadway's Hudson Theatre on November 30, 2017, following previews from November 7, and play a limited engagement through to March 11, 2018.

"Lord of the Rings" star Marton Csokas and Tony nominee Phillipa Soo will take on the roles of Peter and Rebecca, respectively, joining previously announced Academy Award nominee Uma Thurman (as Chloe), Josh Lucas (as Tom) and Tony winner Blair Brown (as Jeanette Simpson).

This marks the Broadway debut for Marton Csokas, although he has previously appeared off-Broadway in New York Theatre Workshop's revival of Lillian Hellman's 'The Little Foxes' in 2010 and in Theatre for a New Audience's revival of 'Antony and Cleopatra' in 2008. He is perhaps best known for his role as Celeborn in the "Lord of the Rings" film franchise. His other screen credits include "The Equalizer," "xXx," "Into the Badlands," "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," "The Amazing Spider-Man 2," "Noah," "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," "Alice in Wonderland," "Æon Flux," "Kingdom of Heaven," "The Bourne Supremacy," "Kangaroo Jack," and "Xena: Warrior Princess."

Phillipa Soo made her Broadway debut as Eliza Schuyler Hamilton in the hit musical 'Hamilton,' earning her first Tony nomination for the role. She was last seen on Broadway in the title role of this year's Broadway premiere of 'Amélie.' Soo previously starred off-Broadway in the Public Theater production of 'Hamilton,' as well as the Kazino's production of 'Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812' as Natasha. On screen, she played the character of Lexi in NBC's musical series "Smash" and lent her voice to the Disney animated classic "Moana."

Synopsis: "The Parisian Woman is set in Washington, D.C., where powerful friends are the only kind worth having, especially after the 2016 election. At the center is Chloe (Uma Thurman), a socialite armed with charm and wit, coming to terms with politics, her past, her marriage and an uncertain future. Dark humor and drama collide at this pivotal moment in Chloe's life, and in our nation's, when the truth isn't obvious and stakes couldn't be higher."

The creative team behind The Parisian Woman features scenic design by Tony winner Derek McLane, costume design by Tony winner Jane Greenwood, lighting design by Tony winner Peter Kaczorowski, sound design & original composition by Broken Chord, and projection design by Darrel Maloney.

The Parisian Woman is produced on Broadway by Marc Routh, Richard Frankel, Tom Viertel, Steven Baruch, and Steve Traxler.

Uma Thurman earned Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for "Pulp Fiction" in 1995. She won a Golden Globe for "Hysterical Blindness" in 2003 and earned Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations for "Kill Bill: Vol. 1" in 2004 and a Golden Globe nomination for "Kill Bill: Vol. 2" in 2005. She earned her only Emmy Award nomination for her portrayal of Rebecca Duvall in the Broadway-centric TV series "Smash". Other notable screen credits include "The Producers," "Bel Ami," "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief," "Motherhood," "Be Cool," "Paycheck," "The Avengers," "Les Misérables," "Gattaca," "Batman & Robin," and "Dangerous Liaisons." She made her off-Broadway debut in the Public Theater production of 'Book of the Dead (Second Avenue)' in 2000.
