The Roundabout Theatre Company have announced that Tony and three-time Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo will return to Broadway as he joins the cats of the forthcoming revival of Arthur Miller's The Price, directed by Steppenwolf co-founder Terry Kinney, which will begin previews at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre on 16 February 2017, before an official opening on 16 March, and a limited engagement through to 7 May 2017.

Mr. Ruffalo will be taking over the role of Victor Franz from previously announced John Turturro, who has had to withdraw due to filming schedule conflicts.

The cast of The Price includes Tony and three-time Oscar nominee Mark Ruffalo (Victor Franz), Golden Globe & Emmy winner Danny DeVito (Gregory Solomon), Golden Globe & Emmy winner and three-time Tony nominee Tony Shalhoub (Walter Franz) and Tony nominee Jessica Hecht (Esther Franz).

Synopsis: "When the Great Depression cost his family their fortune, Victor Franz gave up his dream of an education to support his father. Three decades later, Victor has returned to his childhood home to sell the remainder of his parents' estate. His wife, his estranged brother, and the wily furniture dealer hired to appraise their possessions all arrive with their own agendas, forcing Victor to confront a question, long-stifled, about the value of his sacrifice. Arthur Miller's The Price is a riveting story about the struggle to make peace with the past and create hope for the future."

The creative team features set design by Derek McLane, costume design by Sarah J. Holden, lighting design by David Weiner and sound design by Rob Milburn and Michael Bodeen.

Mark Ruffalo earned a Tony nomination in 2006 for his Broadway debut as Moe Axelrod in 'Awake and Sing!' Off-Broadway credits include 'The Moment When' and his Lucill Lortel Award-winning performance in 'This is Our Youth.' He is widely known for his career on screen, earning Oscar and BAFTA nominations for "Spotlight" (2016), "Foxcatcher" (2015) and "The Kids Are All Right" (2011). He also earned Golden Globe nominations for "Infinitely Polar Bear" (2016), "The Normal Heart" (2015) (also Emmy nomination) and "Foxcatcher." Other notable screen credits include the role of Bruce Banner/Incredible Hulk in Marvel's "The Avengers" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Shutter Island," "Where the Wild Things Are," and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," among others.
