The Lincoln Center Theater has announced two upcoming productions for Summer 2015:

Shows For Days is a new play by Douglas Carter Beane and will be directed by Jerry Zaks. It is scheduled to begin previews at LCT's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater on 4 June 2015, before officially opening on 29 June 2015.

Shows For Days is "playwright Douglas Carter Beane's fond remembrance of his immersion into a life in the theater. The comedy is set in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1973, when 14-year old Car, the play's narrator and the author's alter-ego, is introduced to the world of theater through his local community theatre, the Prometheus Theatre, and its devoted cast and crew which is led by Irene, an indomitable force of nature whose life is dedicated to putting on productions she directs, designs and stars in."

Casting and creative team members will be announced at a later date.

The second production is an LCT3 musical called Preludes by Dave Malloy and will be directed by Rachel Chavkin. The show will officially open on 15 June 2015, following previews from 23 May, and continue its limited engagement through to 19 July 2015 at the Claire Tow Theater (located on roof of Vivian Beaumont Theater).

Preludes is "a musical fantasia set in the hypnotized mind of Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninov. After the disastrous premiere of his first symphony, the young Rachmaninov suffers from writer's block. He begins daily sessions with a therapeutic hypnotist, in an effort to overcome depression and return to composing."

The creative team features scenic design by Mimi Lien, costume design by Paloma Young, lighting design by Bradley King, and sound design by Matt Hubbs. Casting for the musical will be announced at a later date.
