Jump: producers announce that the show played its final performance on 20 Jul
Jump, the high flying martial arts comedy, played its final performance on 20 Jul 2008, it was announced today (22 Jul 2008) by the shows producers, CAMI Ventures, LLC, a subsidiary of Columbia Artists Management, Inc (CAMI). The show had been sselling tickets through to 7 Sep 2008.
The show, which opened Off Broadway on 7 Oct 2007, following previews from 25 Sep, played 15 preview performances and 329 regular performances at the Union Square Theatre.
Mark Maluso, President of CAMI Ventures, LLC said Jump has entertained audiences in New York for nearly ten months with its unique brand of physical humor. We greatly look forward to bringing Jump to other cities in North America in the coming months.
Created by Koreas Yegam Inc. (Producer, Kyung-Hun Kim/Artistic Director, Chul-Ki Choi), Jump arrived in New York following engagements in Israel, Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, Madrid, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Tokyo, Osaka and London.
The production is currently enjoying an open run in Seoul, Korea, with additional engagements set to commence throughout the world.
Set in the interior of a traditional Korean home, Jump tells the story of an anything-but-typical family. Each member of the household, from the strict Grandfather to the pretty young daughter, enjoys nothing more than challenging the rest of the family to martial arts showdowns. When two burglars break into the house occupied by three generations of highly trained martial artists, the family turns their expertise on the unexpected guests.
The hyperactive sitcom that ensues is an ideal forum for this troupe to show off their extensive training in martial arts, acrobatics, gymnastics and comic acting.
