Full Cast announced for Vineyard's Too Much Sun

Vineyard Theatre has announced full casting for Nicky Silver's World Premiere of Too Much Sun, directed by Mark Brokaw, which begins previews on 01 May 2014, with an official opening on 18 May 2014 and currently booking to 08 Jun 2014. Joining previously announced Tony Award winner Linda Lavin are Jennifer Westfeldt, Richard Bekins, Matt Dellapina, Ken Barnett and Matt Dickson.

Synopsis: 'Audrey Langham ia a celebrated actress who unravels completely while preparing for a new production of MEDEA. With nowhere else to go, she descends upon her married daughter for a summer by the sea. She is not, however, greeted with confetti and champagne. Her arrival sets off a chain of events alternately hilarious, harrowing and unforgettable.'

Linda Lavin has six Tony nominations to her name and won the Tony Award for Leading Actress in a Play for Neil Simon's 'Broadway Bound' in 1987. Other Tony-nominated Broadway credits include 'Last of the Red Hot Lovers' (1969), 'The Diary of Anne Frank' (1997), The Tale of the Allergist's Wife' (2000), 'Collected Stories' (2010) and 'The Lyons' (2012). Other selected Broadway credits include 'Gypsy' (1990), 'It's a Bird...It's a Plane...It's Superman!' (1966) and 'Hollywood Arms' (2002). Her many Off-Broadway appearances include 'Other Desert Cities' (2011) and 'Little Murders' (1969). She is widely-known for her Golden Globe winning role on the long-running television show 'Alice'.

Ken Barnett appeared on Broadway in 'Wonderful Town' (2003) and 'The Green Bird' (2000). He was last seen Off-Broadway in 'February House' (2012).

Richard Bekins' Broadway credits include 'Tartuffe' (1996), 'Love! Valor! Compassion!' (1995) and 'Happy New Year' (1980). He also appeared at the Vineyard in 'Somewhere Fun' (2013).

Matt Dellapina's Off-Broadway credits include 'The Tutors' (2013) and 'Outside People' (2012) at the Vineyard Theatre.

Matt Dickson's Broadway credits include 'War Horse' (2011) and 'The Coast of Utopia: Parts 1, 2 and 3' (2006-2007).

Jennifer Westfeldt was nominated for a Tony Award for her role in 'Wonderful Town' in 2004. She wrote and starred in the films 'Kissing Jessica Stein' and 'Friends with Kids'. Her Off-Broadway credits include 'The Library' (2014), 'The Explorers Club' (2013) and 'A Lifetime Burning' (2009).

The creative team for Too Much Sun features scenic design by Donyale Werle, lighting by David Lander, costume by Michael Krass, and sound by David Van Tieghem.
