Forced to explain his new relationship to his shallow (although shockingly funny) friends, finally he comes to terms with his own preconceptions of the importance of conventional good looks. MCC Theatre Company and Neil LaBute have worked together on other productions. MCC THEATER premiered the US production of LaBute's 'The Distance From Here', which was directed by Michael Grief and featured Anna Paquin. In March of 2004, LaBute wrote and directed a 'Autobahn', a staged-reading benefit for MCC of five new, one act-plays, all set inside a car. In November 2002, MCC presented the critically acclaimed, sold-out run of LaBute's 9/11 drama 'The Mercy Seat', which stared Liev Schreiber and Sigourney Weaver.
