#DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment to play off-Broadway's Westside Theatre
Robyn Lynne Norris' musical comedy begins performances at the Westside Theatre on June 20, 2019.
Following a three-year run at the Up-Comedy Theatre in Chicago, Robyn Lynne Norris' musical comedy #DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment transfers to New York City to play off-Broadway's Westside Theatre from June 20, 2019.
Synopsis: "48 million Americans have tried online dating. #DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment is the outrageous, true story of one. Robyn Lynne Norris (the show's creator and writer) is unlucky in love but determined to understand it better, so she logs on to the world's most popular dating site: OkCupid. Creating 38 "undateable" profiles as an interactive scientific investigation into online dating, Robyn unwittingly sets in motion the social experiment of our generation. Part improv, part sketch comedy and entirely hilarious, Robyn makes one conclusive result: there's no algorithm for love."
#DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment was created by Robyn Lynne Norris, who wrote the show along with Bob Ladewig and Frank Caeti. It was developed by Diane Alexander and features original music by Julie Nichols and Dan Wessels, with lyrics by Robyn Lynne Norris, Frank Caeti, Amanda Blake Davis, and Bob Ladewig.
Lorin Latarro, currently represented on Broadway as the choreographer behind hit musical Waitress, directs the New York premiere, which also features scenic design by David Arsenault, lighting design by Travis McHale, and projections & interconnectivity by Sam Hains.
Casting for the production will be announced at a later date.
#DateMe: An OkCupid Experiment is produced off-Broadway by Elizabeth Williams and Diane Alexander, with Remmel Dickinson, Benjamin Lowy, and Adrian Salpeter.
