The world premiere of Estella Scrooge: A Christmas Carol With A Twist will be available to watch later this month. A brand new musical film inspired by Charles Dickens' novel, Estella Scrooge will premiere on November 27, after the entire production was planned, produced and digitally captured during the pandemic.

Created by John Caird and Paul Gordon, Estella Scrooge follows Estella, a Wall Street tycoon who wants to help a childhood sweetheart, Pip Nickleby. Later seeking refuge in Pip's homeless shelter, Estella is visited by three familiar ghosts for a night she'll never forget. As well as inspiration from A Christmas Carol, Estella Scrooge incorporates characters from a variety of Dickensian works, including Great Expectations, Little Dorrit and Bleak House.

Betsy Wolfe plays the titular character, a descendent of her four-times great grandfather Ebenezer Scrooge, with Clifton Duncan as Pip Nickelby. There's multiple Tony Award-nominated actors in the cast too, including Danny Burstein as Ebenezer Scrooge, Lauren Patten as Dawkins, Patrick Page as Mr. Merdle and Carolee Carmello as Marla Havisham.

The cast also includes Megan McGinnis, Adam Halpin, Sarah Litzsinger, Tom Nelis, Em Grosland, Phoenix Best, David Bryant, Gabrielle Reid, Samuel Lee Roberts, Michael Francis McBride, Michele Lee, Kristen Faith Oei, Meg Gibson, William Youmans, Kevyn Morrow, Joziyah Jean-Felix, Brooklyn Shuck and Willow McCarthy.

Speaking about his new musical, John Caird said: "I'm so happy to bring this new musical to life in the midst of these mad and maddening times. The creative team nimbly learned new techniques to bring the actors and their characters together. It's wonderful to provide employment for the theatre community while we enliven the classic Christmas Carol story, refashioned with a new twist for today. At a time of great conflict and hardship, I hope we can shine a little ray of optimism into the surrounding darkness."

Estella Scrooge is available to watch in full from November 27. You can watch the trailer below.
