Dancing On Nails to close on 31 Jul 2013

Paul Manuel Kane's Dancing On Nails has eposted early closing notices and will play its final performance on 31 Jul 2013.

The play opened at Theatre 80 on 24 Jul 2013, following previews from 10 Jul 2013, and was originally scheduled to play through to 29 Aug 2013.

The play opened to dismal reviews: In this play, everyone is nice, all intentions are good, and each choice is easily understood. Such safety soon feels stifling and, when combined with numerous production problems, turns exasperating long before the show's end. (New York Times).

Directed by Allen Lewis Rickman, Dancing On Nails stars Peter Van Wagner (Sam Heisler), Jazmyn Richardson (Natalie Washington), Lori Wilner (Rose Levitt), Lauren Klein (Luba Fogel) and Michael Lewis (Joe Levitt).

Dancing On Nails : Sam Heisler sits alone. At home, at the movies, in his Greenwich Village hardware store. Then he meets Natalie. He likes Natalie. But he's 52 and she's 23. He's Jewish and she's black. And it's 1953.

The creative team features scenic design by Vicki R. Davis, costume design by Gail Cooper-Hecht and lighting design by Michael Gottlieb.
