Constance Wu, Corbin Bleu to join 'Little Shop of Horrors' cast
The Off-Broadway musical revival has played at the Westside Theatre since 2019 and featured a rotating lineup of various stage and screen stars in the lead roles.
They're going somewhere that's green! Constance Wu and Corbin Bleu will join the Little Shop of Horrors Off-Broadway cast on September 26, becoming the latest celebrity guest stars to step into the main roles of Seymour and Audrey.
Wu is best known for her appearances in films like Crazy Rich Asians and Hustlers, alongside TV series like “Fresh Off the Boat.” She is also a stage veteran, having appeared in multiple productions in Los Angeles, most recently 2:22: A Ghost Story.
Bleu is a musical theatre veteran on stage and screen, rising to prominence in the early 2000s in the High School Musical film series. He has since starred on Broadway in Kiss Me, Kate, Godspell, In the Heights, and Holiday Inn.
Bleu and Wu both make their Off-Broadway debuts with Little Shop of Horrors. They respectively replace Jeremy Jordan and Joy Woods in the Little Shop of Horrors cast. Jordan will play his final performance on September 17, and Woods on the 24th.
The current cast also includes Bryce Pinkham as Dr. Orin Scrivello, D.D.S.; Brad Oscar as Mushnik; Aaron Arnell Harrington as The Voice of Audrey II; D’Kaylah Unique Whitley as Ronnette; Tiffany Renee Thompson as Crystal; and Khadija Sankoh as Chiffon.
The Little Shop of Horrors musical follows a geeky plant shop worker, Seymour, who strikes a dark deal with a bloodthirsty, flesh-eating plant in exchange for fame and fortune. The horror comedy's current revival has played at the Westside Theatre since 2019.
