Casting Announced for Punk Rock at the Lucille Lortel

MCC Theater have announced full casting for their upcoming production of Punk Rock by Simon Stephens at the Lucille Lortel Theatre from 29 October 2014 to 7 December, with an official opening on 17 November 2014.

The cast for the production will include Douglas Smith, Pico Alexander, Lilly Englert, Annie Funke, David Greenspan, Colby Minifie, Will Pullen, and Noah Robbins.

Inspired by playwright Simon Stephens' own experiences as a teacher Punk Rock is described as "an unnerving chronicle of contemporary adolescence at the breaking point". In a private school outside of Manchester, England a group of highly-articulate seventeen year-olds flirt and posture their way through the day while preparing for their A-Level mock exams. With hormones raging and minimal adult supervision, nothing can mask the underlying tension that becomes increasingly pronounced as the clock ticks towards the ultimate dismissal.

Playwright Simon Stephens' is currently represented on Broadway with the Olivier Award winning The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time , which is currently in previews at the Barrymore Theatre.
