Buyer & Cellar to Shutter Early on 27 July 2014

It has been reported that the off-Broadway production of Buyer & Cellar which is playing at the Barrow Street Theatre, has posted early closing notices, and will now play its final performance on 27 July 2014.

The production currently stars Farrett Boa who took over the role from previous cast member Christopher J. Hanke. The show was booking until 31 August 2014. Upon closing, the show will have run for 8 preview performances and 458 regular performances. There are also plans for a London production in Spring 2015.

Buyer & Cellar opened 03 Apr 2013 at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, where it played through to 12 May 2013. It then transferred to its current home at the Barrow Street Theatre where it opened on 24 Jun 2013.

Synopsis: 'Alex More has a story to tell. A struggling actor in L.A., Alex takes a job working in the Malibu basement of a beloved megastar. One day, the Lady Herself comes downstairs to play. It feels like real bonding in the basement, but will their relationship ever make it upstairs? Buyer & Cellar is a comedy about the price of fame, the cost of things, and the oddest of odd jobs.'

The show features set design by Andrew Boyce, costumes by Jessica Pabst, lighting by Eric Southern and sound by Stowe Nelson.
