Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale at the Chernuchin Theatre
The New York Musical Theatre Festival present Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale, book and lyrics by Hunter Foster, with music by Rick Crom, at the American Theatre of Actors' Chernuchin Theatre from 16 - 28 Sep 2008.
Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale: America's most romantic gangsters outwit and outrun a relentless (yet always ladylike) J. Edgar Hoover to the delight of the poor and downtrodden, as their relationship changes from 'strictly business' to reluctant love.
Directed by Mark Waldrop and choreographed by Josh Rhodes, Bonnie & Clyde: A Folktale stars Diane Davis as 'Bonnie Parker' and Jason Wooten as 'Clyde Barrow', and also features Melissa Rain Anderson, Kevin Cahoon, Kevin Carolan, Rachel Coloff, Dennis Holland, Julie Johnson, Dana Steer, Julius Thomas III, Stephanie Umoh and Darryl Winslow.
The creative team includes Adam Koch (sets), Matthew Hemesath (costumes) and Matt Berman (lighting & sound).
Bios:
Diane Davis' (Bonnie Parker) Broadway credits include 'Old Acquaintance' (2007 revival) and 'Festen' (2006). OFf-Broadway she starred in MTC's production of 'Regrets Only' (2006).
Jason Wooten (Clyde Barrow) Broadway credits include 'The Times They Are A-Changin'' (2006), 'Dance of the Vampires' (2002), 'The Rocky Horror Show' (2000 revival), 'Jesus Christ Superstar' (2000) and 'Footloose' (1998).
Hunter Foster's (book and lyrics) Broadway acting credits include 'Urinetown' (2001), 'Little Shop of Horrors,' 'The Producers,' 'Grease,' 'Footloose,' 'Les Miserables' and Alan Menken's 'King David.' As a writer he has penned books to 'Summer of '42' and 'Fearless.'
Rick Crom (composer) wrote the music and lyrics for the off-Broadway shows 'Newsical' and 'Space Trek,' As an actor he's appeared on Broadway in 'Urinetown' (2001) Footloose (1998).
Mark Waldrop (Director) most recently directed 'Little Shop of Horrors' at Paper Mill Playhouse, where he also directed 'Romeo and Bernadette' and 'Gypsy' starring Betty Buckley and Deborah Gibson.
