Atlantic Theater Company has named its 2026-27 Off-Broadway season, with four world-premiere plays at its mainstage, the Linda Gross Theater, and a children's production at Atlantic Stage 2.
First in the season is I Became We, a play with music written by Mona Pirnot (book and lyrics) and Jack D. Coen (music and lyrics) and directed by Sarah Benson. The auto-fictional show features a 16-person choir performing as a 30something woman wrestling with an important life decision, with contemporary language set to classical choral stylings.
Performances run October 16 to November 15.
Next is Too Bad For Her, about the consequences of a 30-year affair. Obie Award winner Clare Barron (Dance Nation) wrote the show, directed by Tony Award nominee Anne Kauffman. Performances run January 9 to February 14, 2027.
From March 18 to April 25 is Old Actress, described as "a play about learning lines for a play." The show reunites playwright Lucas Hnath, director Les Waters, and actor Deirdre O'Connell following their Tony Award-winning production of Dana H.
The final mainstage show is Push by Pulitzer Prize winner Jackie Sibblies Drury (Fairview). In 1976 New York, a choreographer is tasked with creating a routine for a world-renowned dancer fresh off his defection from the USSR.
Tony Award-winning spouses Patricia Delgado and Justin Peck (Buena Vista Social Club) choreograph, and Peck also directs. Performances run May 27 to July 3.
Additionally, the Atlantic for Kids production at Atlantic Stage 2 is the new coming-of-age musical Finn, about a young shark who dreams of joining the prestigious Shark Guard. Finn has a book by Chris Nee, music by Michael Kooman, and lyrics by Christopher Dimond, and is directed by Ryan Dobrin. Performances run December 12, 2026 to January 31, 2027.
Additional cast and creative team members for all the above productions have yet to be announced.
