Its reign is ending: Six will play its final Broadway performance at the Lena Horne Theatre on January 3, 2027. At the time of closing, the musical will have played 2,178 performances.

Six reimagines the six wives of Henry VIII as a modern girl group competing to see who had the worst marriage — before realizing they’re better when they band together. The show began as a college project by creators Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, and it went on to become a global phenomenon. The Broadway production won two Tony Awards, for Marlow and Moss’s original pop score and Gabriella Slade’s costumes.

The show began performances in February 2020 but was shuttered by the pandemic on its planned opening night; it officially opened in 2021 to rave reviews. New York Theatre Guide’s critic raved, “You'll laugh. You'll cry. You'll dance. It's everything a theatre experience should be and more.”

The current Six Broadway cast includes Khaila Wilcoxon as Catherine of Aragon, Chloe Tucker Caine as Anne Boleyn, Natalie Paris as Jane Seymour, Olivia Donalson as Anna of Cleves, Aimie Atkinson as Katherine Howard, and Stephanie Jae Park as Catherine Parr. Paris and Atkinson are original Six cast members from the West End production in London.
