An Early History of Fire: cast announced

The New Group has announced the full cast for their world premiere production of David Rabe's An Early History of Fire, dircted by Jo Bonney, opening at Theatre Row's Acorn Theater on 23 Apr 2012, following previews from 5 Apr 2012, and closing on 26 May 2012.

The cast will star Claire van der Boom (Karen) and Theo Stockman (Danny), and will also feature Deema Aitken, Gordon Clapp, Erin Darke, Jonny Orsini, Devin Ratray and Dennis Staroselsky.

The previously announced Lily Rabe, playwright David Rabe's daughter, who was to have starred as 'Karen' has withdrawn from the production due to a scheduling conflict.

An Early History of Fire: In a Midwestern town, Danny's world is defined by friendship and loyalty. But the bigger world is encroaching, in the form of Karen, back from college in the east, alluring and unsettling because of what she now knows. Still, Danny can't escape the grip of his immigrant father, who is mourning a vanished world of lost prestige and clinging to his only son.
