Producer Scott Rudin has posted a closure notice for the Broadway premiere of Lucas Hnath's A Doll's House, Part 2, directed by Tony winner Sam Gold, for September 24, 2017, at Broadway's Golden Theatre. Upon closing, the production will have performed a total of 30 previews and 173 regular performances.

A Doll's House, Part 2 began previews on March 30, 2017, before an official opening on April 27 to excellent reviews. The limited engagement was originally scheduled to close on July 23, 2017, but was subsequently extended through to January 7, 2018 due to critical acclaim and popular demand.

Tony winner Julie White, Tony nominee Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Erin Wilhelmi assumed the roles of Nora, Torvald, and Emmy, respectively, on July 25, 2017 and joined original cast member Jayne Houdyshell as Anne Marie. Original cast members Tony and three-time Emmy Award winner Laurie Metcalf, Oscar winner Chris Cooper, and two-time Tony nominee Condola Rashad all played their final performances on July 23 (the play's original Broadway closing date, prior to its extension).

Synopsis: "In the final scene of Ibsen's 1879 ground-breaking masterwork, Nora Helmer makes the shocking decision to leave her husband and children, and begin a life on her own. This climactic event - when Nora slams the door on everything in her life - instantly propelled world drama into the modern age. In A Doll's House, Part 2, many years have passed since Nora's exit. Now, there's a knock on that same door. Nora has returned. But why? And what will it mean for those she left behind?"

A Doll's House, Part 2 marks the Broadway debut of writer Lucas Hnath. The play was originally commissioned by South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa, California. Their production began performances on April 9, 2017, and consequently ran simultaneously with the Broadway engagement.

The creative team for the Broadway production features scenic design by Miriam Buether, costume design by Tony winner David Zinn, lighting design by Tony winner Jennifer Tipton, sound design by Tony winner Leon Rothenberg, projection design by Peter Nigrini and hair & makeup design by Luc Verschueren/Campbell Young Associates.

A Doll's House, Part 2 is produced on Broadway by Scott Rudin.
