Second Stage Theatre Uptown's New York premiere of Lucy Teitler's dark comedy Engagements has extended its limited engagement by one week. The production began previews at the McGinn/Cazale Theatre on 18 July 2016 and will officially open on 4 August. The final performance will now take place on 20 August 2016.

Synopsis: "It's summer in New England and every weekend is someone else's engagement party. The wildflowers, specialty cocktails, and artisanal appetizers are totally Instagram-worthy, but the people are not quite so perfect. One night, Lauren takes it into her own hands to make sure that her best friend doesn't marry an inadequate suitor - a drunken mistake that incites a cascade of calamities, threatening to expose all of Lauren's secrets. Engagements is a dark comedy about ugly feelings in an age of beautiful self-images."

Directed by Kimberly Senior, the cast of Engagements includes Jennifer Kim (Allison), Omar Maskati (Ryan), Ana Nogueira (Lauren), Michael Stahl-David (Mark) and Brooke Weisman (Catherine).

The creative team features scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Beth Goldenberg, lighting design by Jen Schriever, and sound design by Ryan Rumery.

This production concludes the Second Stage Theatre's 2016 Uptown Series.
