Michael Francis Moore was born in Flint, Michigan on April 23, 1954. He is perhaps best known as a political activist and for his film career as a writer, producer and director, winning an Academy Award in 2003 for "Bowling for Columbine" and earning a second Oscar nomination in 2008 for Sicko. He won an Emmy Award in 1995 for TV Nation, earned a second nomination the following year and two further Emmy Award nominations for The Awful Truth in 1999 and 2001.
His other most notable screen credits include Michael Moore in Trumpland, Where to Invade Next, Capitalism: A Love Story, Slacker Uprising, Fahrenheit 9/11, The Big One, Canadian Bacon, Pets or Meat: The Return to Flint, and Roger & Me.
