José "Candelita" Iglesias makes his Broadway debut as the Narrator in Buena Vista Social Club at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre starting August 27, 2026.
Iglesias is a Major League Baseball player and Latin pop singer. As an athlete, he played for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Angels, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets and San Diego Padres between 2011 and 2025, when he became a free agent.
As a musician, he performs under the name Candelita. He released his debut single, "Tambor," in 2023 and is best known for his 2024 song "OMG."
