Vineyard Theatre confirms encore engagement of Is This A Room
Tina Satter's Is This A Room will play an additional 25 performances at the Vineyard Theatre from December 20, 2019 through January 19, 2020.
The Vineyard Theatre has announced an encore engagement for Is This A Room, conceived and directed by Tina Satter, which previously played the Off-Broadway venue to great acclaim (read our 4* review) from October 3 through November 24, 2019. The return engagement will consist of 25 additional performances from December 20, 2019 through January 19, 2020.
Synopsis: "A true story, still unfolding. June 3, 2017. A 25-year-old former Air Force linguist named Reality Winner is surprised at her home by the FBI, interrogated, and then charged with leaking evidence of Russian interference in U.S elections. Reality remains in jail with a record-breaking sentence. The FBI transcript of her interrogation is the heart of Is This a Room, in which an extraordinary human drama unfolds between the complex and witty Reality, and the agents who question her. As Reality’s autonomy shrinks before her eyes, a simmering real-life thriller emerges, asking what it is to have honor in this American moment, and how the personal can reverberate globally."
The cast of Is This A Room includes Emily C. Davis (as Reality Winner), Becca Blackwell (as Unknown Male), Pete Simpson (as Agent Garrick), and TL Thompson (as Agent Taylor).
The creative team features scenic design by Parker Lutz, costume design by Enver Chakartash, lighting design by Thomas Dunn, original music & sound design by Sanae Yamada, and puppetry design by Amanda Villalobos.
Is This A Room was originally staged as a limited engagement at The Kitchen in New York City in January 2019.
