Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that Tony Carlin has now joined the world premiere production of Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck's new play Bernhardt/Hamlet, taking over the role of Louis. Paxton Whitehead has departed the production due to medical reasons.

Directed by Tony Award nominee Moritz von Stuelpnagel, Bernhardt/Hamlet began preview performances at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre on August 31, 2018. The limited engagement is scheduled to run through to November 18, 2018, with an official opening set for September 25.

Synopsis: "Mark Twain wrote: "There are five kinds of actresses: bad actresses, fair actresses, good actresses, great actresses. And then there is Sarah Bernhardt." In 1899, the international stage celebrity set out to tackle her most ambitious role yet: Hamlet. Bernhardt/Hamlet rollicks with high comedy and human drama, set against the lavish Shakespearean production that could make or break Bernhardt's career. Janet McTeer brings the legendary leading lady to life."

The cast of Bernhardt/Hamlet is led by Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe, Tony & Olivier Award winner Janet McTeer (as Sarah Bernhardt), alongside Tony & 3-time Emmy Award nominee Dylan Baker (as Constant Coquelin) and Jason Butler Harner (as Edmond Rostand), with Matthew Saldivar (as Alphonse Mucha), Nick Westrate (as Maurice), Tony Carlin (as Louis), Ito Aghayere (as Rosamond), Brittany Bradford (as Lysette), Aaron Costa Ganis (as Raoul), and Triney Sandoval (as Francois).

The creative team features scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Toni-Leslie James, lighting design by Bradley King and original music and sound design by Fitz Patton.
