Signature Theatre announces extension for Thom Pain (based on nothing) starring Michael C. Hall

Thom Pain (based on nothing) will now play its final performance at the Pershing Square Signature Center on December 2, 2018.

Siganture Theatre's previously announced production of solo show Thom Pain (based on nothing), written by Will Eno, directed by Obie Award-winner Oliver Butler and starring Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall, has extended its limited engagement by one week.

Performances are schedule to begin at the Pershing Square Signature Center's Irene Diamond Stage on October 23, 2018, ahead of an official opening on November 11, and the production will now run through to December 2, 2018 (instead of November 25).

Synopsis: "This surreal and very real one-man show follows Thom Pain as he desperately, and hilariously, tries to save his own life...or at least make it into something worth dying for."

The creative team for the production features scenic design by Amy Rubin, costume design by Anita Yavich, lighting design by Jen Schriever, and sound design by Lee Kinney.

Michael C. Hall is perhaps best known for his Golden Globe-winning role as Dexter Morgan on Showtime's hit TV series "Dexter," which has also earned him 5 Emmy Award nominations and a further 4 Golden Globe nominations over the years. He also earned a 2002 Emmy Award nomination for his role as David Fisher on the HBO series "Six Feet Under". He was last seen on stage in the London and New York Theatre Workshop productions of David Bowie & Enda Walsh's Lazarus, earning Drama Desk, Drama League and Lucille Lortel Award nominations in 2016. His Broadway credits include the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, John Jones in The Realistic Joneses, Billy Flynn in Chicago, Master of Ceremonies in Cabaret, and his Broadway debut in Skylight in 1996. He has also appeared off-Broadway in the title role of Mr. Marmalade for Roundabout Theatre Company, in Corpus Christi for Manhattan Theatre Club, as Malcolm in the Public Theater's 1998 revival of Macbeth, and in the Public's "Shakespeare in the Park" productions of Cymbeline, Timon of Athens, and Henry V.
