Signature Theatre has now revealed complete casting for the previously announced production of By the Way, Meet Vera Stark, written by two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and directed by Kamilah Forbes.

The full cast of By the Way, Meet Vera Stark includes Jenni Barber (as Gloria), Jessica Frances Dukes (as Vera), Tony Award nominee Manoel Felciano (as Max/Peter), Warner Miller (as Leroy/Herb), Carra Patterson (as Anna Mae/Afua), Heather Alicia Simms (as Lottie/Carmen), and David Turner (as Brad/Slavick).

By the Way, Meet Vera Stark begins previews on January 29, 2019 at Pershing Square Signature Center's Irene Diamond Stage, ahead of an official opening on February 19 and a limited engagement through to March 3, 2019.

Synopsis: "It's the Golden Age of Hollywood, and aspiring starlet Vera Stark works as a maid to Gloria Mitchell, an aging star grasping at her fading career. Worlds collide when Vera lands a trailblazing role in an antebellum epic starring...her boss. While Vera's portrayal of a slave turns out to be groundbreaking, decades later scholars and film buffs still grapple with the actress' legacy in Hollywood and the impact that race had on her controversial career. By the Way, Meet Vera Stark will take you on a seventy-year journey through Vera's life and the cultural climate that originally shaped her and continues today."

The creative team for the production has also been announced and features scenic design by Clint Ramos, costume design by Dede M. Ayite, lighting design by Matt Frey, sound design by Mikaal Sulaiman, projection design by Katherine Freer, and music composition by Daniel Kluger.

Signature's current production of Lynn Nottage's Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine continues at The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre within Pershing Square Signature Center through to January 13, 2019.
