Previously titled The Impossible Man, the musical is now eponymously named after the American-Hungarian illusionist. Little is known about the show's synopsis, however it's set at Houdini's last show in Detroit, with his life told through a series of flashbacks.

Ramin Karimloo read the part of Harry Houdini, with previous Broadway appearances including Jean Valjean in Les Miserables and originating the role of Gleb Vaganov in Anastasia. Laura Osnes played Bess Houdini, with recent Broadway credits including Bandstand, Cinderella and Bonnie and Clyde.

The world premiere of Houdini is said to take place in Detroit, the city where Houdini played his final stunt. After a world premiere, Houdini has its sights set on a Broadway premiere and a West End transfer.

A book writer, composer and full creative team are to be announced, however Federico Bellone is said to direct Houdini.
