New York theatres extend vaccination requirement to April 30

Theatres will also require children to be fully vaccinated starting January 29.

The Broadway League, the organization that oversees all 41 Broadway theatres, has announced that audiences will be required to show proof of vaccination to attend shows through April 30. The requirement was previously in place through February 28. Read more about Broadway vaccination requirements.

In addition, in accordance with the latest Key to NYC guidelines established by the New York City government, children ages 5 to 11 will be required to present proof of full vaccination to attend Broadway shows, beginning on January 29. Since December, children in this age group have been required to have had one dose of either a one- or two-dose vaccine to attend a show, as long as they were accompanied by a fully vaccinated adult. "Fully vaccinated" is currently defined as having had a one-dose vaccine or the second shot of a two-dose vaccine 14 days before attending a performance. Booster shots are currently not required for entry to Broadway theatres, though some Off-Broadway venues, like The Public Theater and The Metropolitan Opera, have announced booster requirements.
