Megan Hilty leads Annie Get Your Gun benefit

It has been announced that Megan Hilty will lead the cast of a one night only benefit performance of classic musical Annie Get Your Gun at New York City Center on 27 October 2015.

The benefit, which will help fund New York City Center's artistic and education programs, will be directed by John Rando with musical direction from Rob Berman featuring the Encores! Orchestra. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

Featuring music and lyrics by Irving Berlin and book by Herbert and Dorothy Fields, Annie Get Your Gun is loosely based on the true story of legendary sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her relationship with Frank Butler. The role was originated by Ethel Merman and has since become associated with Bernadette Peters.

The musical features a classic Berlin score which includes "You Can't Get a Man With a Gun," "There's No Business Like Show Business," "I Got The Sun in the Morning," and "Anything You Can Do."

Megan Hilty's Broadway credits include the original production of '9 to 5 the Musical' and 'Wicked'. She starred in the NBC show 'Smash' and recently starred in the one night concert of 'Bombshell' as Marilyn Monroe. She has performed for New York City Center in productions including 'Gentleman Prefer Blondes'.
