Margo Seibert and more to star in Octet at Signature Theatre

Signature Theatre's world premiere musical begins performances at Pershing Square Signature Center on April 30, 2019.

Signature Theatre has now revealed the cast and creative team for its previously announced world premiere musical Octet, written by three-time Tony Award nominee Dave Malloy and directed by Annie Tippe, which is scheduled to begin previews at Pershing Square Signature Center's Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre on April 30, 2019, ahead of an official opening on May 19 and a limited engagement through to June 9, 2019. The production will be the first musical ever produced by Signature Theatre since its founding in 1991.

The cast includes (in alphabetical order) Adam Bashian (as Jim), Kim Blanck (as Karly), Starr Busby (as Paula), Alex Gibson (as Peter), Justin Gregory Lopez (as Toby), J.D. Mollison (as Marvin), Margo Seibert (as Jessica), and Kuhoo Verma (as Velma), with Jonathan Christopher and Nicole Weiss.

Synopsis: "Featuring a score for an a cappella chamber choir and an original libretto inspired by internet comment boards, scientific debates, religious texts, and Sufi poetry, Octet explores addiction and nihilism within the messy context of 21st century technology."

The creative team behind Octet features includes music supervision & music direction by Or Matias, scenic design by Amy Rubin & Brittany Vasta, costume design by Brenda Abbandandolo, lighting design by Christopher Bowser, and sound design by Hidenori Nakajo.

Signature Theatre's current production of Athol Fugard's Boesman and Lena plays its final performance at Pershing Square Signature Center this Sunday, March 24, 2019.
