Katie Rose Clarke to reprise her role as Glinda in Wicked on Broadway

Katie Rose Clarke joins the Broadway company of smash hit musical Wicked from December 11, 2018.

Thank Goodness! Katie Rose Clarke will return to the role of Glinda in Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre, from December 11, 2018. She will assume the role of Glinda from current cast member Amanda Jane Cooper, who is set to play her final performance on December 9, 2018.

Clarke currently holds the record for the longest-running actress to play the role of Glinda on Broadway. She first played Glinda on the first national tour of Wicked from 2007 to 2009, later reprising the role on Broadway from January 14, 2010 to September 25, 2011 and again from April 23 to September 22, 2013.

Other stage credits include Ellen in Miss Saigon at the Broadway Theatre and Clara Johnson in The Light in the Piazza at the Vivian Beaumont Theater.

The current principal cast includes Jessica Vosk (as Elphaba), Amanda Jane Cooper (as Glinda), Ryan McCartan (as Fiyero), Tony Award nominee Isabel Keating (as Madame Morrible), three-time Tony Award nominee Kevin Chamberlin (as The Wizard), Jye Frasca (as Boq), Kristen Martin (as Nessarose), and Martin Moran (as Dr. Dillamond).

Wicked officially opened at the Gershwin Theatre on October 30, 2003, following previews from October 8, 2003.

Wicked features music & lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, a book by Winnie Holzman, and is based on the popular novel by Gregory Maguire.

Synopsis: "The Broadway sensation Wicked looks at what happened in the Land of Oz...but from a different angle. Long before Dorothy arrives, there is another young woman, born with emerald-green skin, who is smart, fiery, misunderstood, and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships...until the world decides to call one "good," and the other one "wicked"."

The production is directed by Joe Mantello, with choreography by James Lynn Abbott, and features scenic design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner and sound design by Tony Meola.

Wicked is produced on Broadway by Universal Stage Productions, Marc Platt, The Araca Group, Jon B. Platt, and David Stone.

Wicked Tickets are available now for performances through to October 27, 2019.
