Lincoln Center Theater has announced a brand new production for spring 2019. Nantucket Sleigh Ride, written by Tony Award winner John Guare and directed by 4-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks, at the Mitzi E Newhouse Theater, begins performances on February 21, 2019, ahead of an official opening on March 18.

Synopsis: "In his attempts to recover a memory of an event that happened on that 'far away island' 35 years before, Nantucket Sleigh Ride plunges a New York playwright-turned- venture capitalist (to be played by John Larroquette) into a whirlpool of a giant lobster, Roman Polanski, a pornography ring, Walt Disney, a murder, stranded children, and Jorge Luis Borges, with the most unexpected results."

Tony and 5-time Emmy Award winner John Larroquette is set to star in the production. He previously made his Broadway debut in the 2011 revival of How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, winning the Tony Award for "Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Musical". He also starred in Gore Vidal's The Best Man (alongside James Earl Jones and Angela Lansbury) in 2012.

Tony Award nominee Will Swenson will also perform in Nantucket Sleigh Ride, after recently performing as Earl in Waitress on Broadway and as Satan in Jerry Springer - The Opera off-Broadway. Douglas Sills is also in the cast, with recent Broadway credits including War Paint and Living on Love.

The rest of the cast includes Clea Alsip, Tina Benko, Adam Chanler-Berat, Jordan Gelber, Grace Rex and Stacey Sargeant.

Nantucket Sleigh Ride is the latest play from John Guare whose plays The House of Blue Leaves, Six Degrees of Separation and Four Baboons Adoring The Sun were nominated for the Tony Award for "Best Play". Jerry Zaks will helm the production, recently directing the Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly!

The creative team features scenic design by David Gallo, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Howell Binkley, and original music & sound design by Mark Bennett.

Also currently playing at Lincoln Center Theater are the acclaimed Broadway revival of My Fair Lady at the Vivian Beaumont Theater and the LCT3 production of Plot Points in Our Sexual Development at the Claire Tow Theater. The next LCT production at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater will be the New York premiere of Tom Stoppard's The Hard Problem from October 25.
