Following a twice-extended run at New York Theatre Workshop and an additional 5-week extension at off-Broadway's Greenwich House Theater last fall, The Clubbed Thumb, True Love, and New York Theatre Workshop production of What the Constitution Means to Me, written and performed by two-time Obie Award winner Heidi Schreck, has now been given the green light for a Broadway transfer.

Preview performances for the 12-week limited engagement begin at the Hayes Theater on March 14, 2019, ahead of an official opening on March 31, with the run coming to a close on June 9, 2019.

Ms. Schreck commented: "Telling these stories night after night has been a revelatory experience for me. People stay after every show to share their own stories with me, stories about this country, about their parents and grandparents, and about the incredible perseverance of the women in their families. I have been so deeply moved by the passionate and open-hearted response to this show and I can't wait to share it with a bigger audience — both on Broadway and around the country."

The full off-Broadway cast re-joins Ms. Schreck for the Broadway premiere, including Mike Iveson and New York City high school students Rosdely Ciprian and Thursday Williams, all making their respective Broadway debuts.

Synopsis: "Fifteen-year-old Heidi Schreck put herself through college by giving speeches about the U.S. Constitution. Now, the Obie Award winner resurrects her teenage self in order to trace the document's profound impact on women's bodies—starting with her great-great-grandmother, a mail-order bride who died under mysterious circumstances. This witty and searingly personal exploration breathes new life into our founding document and imagines how it will shape the next generation of American women."

Obie Award winner Oliver Butler is once again at the helm of the production which features scenic design by Rachel Hauck, costume design by Michael Krass, lighting design by Jen Schriever, and sound design by Sinan Zafar.

Heidi Schreck made her off-Broadway acting debut for Playwrights Horizons in the 2009 production of Annie Baker's Circle Mirror Transformation, receiving a Theatre World Award and a Drama Desk Award for "Outstanding Ensemble Performance" and has since appeared for Roundabout Theatre Company in The Language Archive (2010), again for Playwrights Horizons in How the World Began (2011-12), for Manhattan Theatre Club in The Madrid (2013) and in the Public's "Shakespeare in the Park" 2013 production of The Comedy of Errors. She made her off-Broadway playwriting debut with Grand Concourse at Playwrights Horizons in 2014.

What the Constitution Means to Me is produced on Broadway by Diana DiMenna, Aaron Glick, and Matt Ross.
