God's Angels cast in An Act of God at Studio 54

Producer Jeffrey Finn has now announced complete casting for Broadway's upcoming new comedy An Act of God, which will play a limited engagement at the historic Studio 54, beginning previews on 5 May 2015, with an official opening on 28 May, and continuing through to 2 August 2015.

Playing God's angels will be two-time Tony nominee Christopher Fitzgerald as Michael and SNL star Tim Kazurinsky as Gabriel. They join previously announced four-time Emmy Award winner Jim Parsons, who will be playing the role of God.

An Act of God, directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, is based on the book 'The Last Testament: A Memoir By God' transcribed by David Javerbaum who has won 13 Emmy Awards for his work as a head writer and executive producer for "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart".

Synopsis: "The King of the Universe is tackling His greatest challenge yet: Broadway. This spring, God takes the form of four-time Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Jim Parsons in An Act of God, a 90-minute comedy where the Almighty and His devoted angels answer some of the deepest questions that have plagued mankind since Creation. He’s finally arrived to set the record straight... and He’s not holding back!"

The creative team features scenic design by Tony Award winner Scott Pask, costumes by Tony nominee David Zinn, lighting by Tony Award winner Hugh Vanstone, sound design by Fitz Patton, projections by Peter Nigrini... and angel wing design by... God.

Christopher Fitzgerald earned Tony nominations for 'Finian’s Rainbow' and 'Young Frankenstein,' and also appeared on the Broadway stage in 'The Merchant of Venice,' 'Wicked,' 'Amour' and 'Chicago.'

Tim Kazurinsky is perhaps best known for his stint on Saturday Night Live in the 1980s, as well as his role as Officer Sweetchuck in the Police Academy movie franchise. More recently, for the past year he has played the role of the Wizard in the first National Tour of 'Wicked.'
