‘Dear Evan Hansen’ movie trailer released, starring Ben Platt in Tony-winning role

The film will be released in cinemas from September 24.

The first trailer for the upcoming film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen has been released today, ahead of a fall release. Ben Platt reprises his Tony Award-winning role as Evan Hansen in the movie, which will be released in cinemas from September 24 and on home entertainment services from October 11. Starring alongside Ben Platt as Evan are Julianne Moore as Heidi, Amy Adamas as Cynthia, Kaitlyn Dever as Zoe, Amandla Stenberg as Alana, Nik Dodani as Jared, Colton Ryan as Connor, and Danny Pino as Larry. DeMarius Copes, Gerald Caesar, Tommy Kane, Avery Bederman, Liz Kate, and Isaac Powell.

The Dear Evan Hansen film adaptation features a script based on the original stage version, written by Steven Levenson. Music and lyrics are by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, with songs including "Waving Through A Window" and "Sincerely, Me." Stephen Chbosky directs.

Last week, it was announced that Dear Evan Hansen will reopen at the Music Box Theatre from December 11. Casting for the Broadway return of Dear Evan Hansen is to be announced.
