Dates confirmed for 2016 Tony ceremony & nominations
The Broadway League and the American Theatre Wing have officially confirmed that the biggest night in Broadway's theatre calendar, the 70th Annual Tony Awards, will take place on Sunday, 5 June 2016 in New York City. Continuing the tradition, CBS will broadcast the ceremony live, as it has done since 1978.
Furthermore the nominations for next year's Tony Awrds will be announced on Friday, 29 April 2016. All Broadway productions in the 2014-2015 season, who officially open on or before the eligibility cut-off date of Tuesday, 26 April 2016 (and meet all other requirements) can be considered for nominations.
