Darren Criss and Julianne Hough to host 'The Tony Awards: Act One'

The special will stream exclusively on Paramount+ on June 12.

Emmy Award winners Darren Criss and Julianne Hough have been named hosts of The Tony Awards: Act One, an hourlong preshow special that will air before the Tony Awards ceremony on June 12. Act One will stream exclusively on Paramount+ at 7 p.m. before the Tony Awards ceremony is broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. from Radio City Music Hall.

Criss is currently starring in David Mamet's American Buffalo on Broadway, which received four 2022 Tony nominations including Best Play Revival. Hough is starring in POTUS: Or, Behind Every Great Dumbass are Seven Women Trying to Keep Him Alive on Broadway alongside 2022 Tony nominees Rachel Dratch and Julie White. Criss and Hough are also known from their TV appearances on Glee and Dancing With the Stars, respectively.

The pair will present some of the Tony Awards and introduce performances by other actors, who have yet to be announced. Academy Award winner Ariana DeBose will then host the Tony Awards broadcast as previously announced.
