Second Stage Theater has announced complete casting for its forthcoming world premiere musical Superhero, featuring a book by Tony Award winner John Logan and a score by Pulitzer Prize & Tony Award winner Tom Kitt. Previews are scheduled to begin at the Tony Kiser Theater on January 31, 2019, ahead of an official opening on February 28 and a limited run through to March 24, 2019.

Joining Tony Award nominees Kate Baldwin (as Charlotte) and Bryce Pinkham (as Jim), as well as newcomer Kyle McArthur (as Simon), will be Julia Abueva (as Rachel), Jake Levy (as Dwayne), Salena Qureshi (as Vee), Thom Sesma (as Vic), and Nathaniel Stampley (as Dean Fulton).

Synopsis: "Before we can save the world, we have to save each other. Superhero is a deeply human new musical about a fractured family, the mysterious stranger in apartment 4-B, and the unexpected hero who just might save the day."

Superhero will be directed off-Broadway by Tony Award nominee Jason Moore.

Currently playing at the Tony Kiser Theater through to November 25, 2018, is the world premiere of Days of Rage, written by Dear Evan Hansen scribe Steven Levenson and starring Dear Evan Hansen's Mike Faist. Over at the Hayes Theater on Broadway, previews have begun for the Broadway transfer of Second Stage Theater's acclaimed revival of Harvey Fierstein's Torch Song, starring Michael Urie and Tony & Academy Award winner Mercedes Ruehl, which runs through to February 24, 2019.
